Default E3 2009 What impressed you?

I thought the big 3 conferences were pretty good this year.

Games that looked good:

Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Star Wars The Old Republic, Metroid: Other M, Mario Bros Wii, Mario Galaxy, Golden Sun DS, God of War 3, and Final Fantasy XIV. I want all of them!

Oh I would say The Old Republic, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age, FFXIV, Left4dead 2, Darksiders and Torchlight from Runic Games. So far it has been a great E3 for gamers.

Assassin's Creed II, though the trailer they showed for TOR looked pretty cool; I might actually try it out.

Other than that, though, nothing stood out to me at all.

Assassin's Creed 2 is awesome.

Prototype's demo gameplay and another trailer just made me wish it was 9th already. Or 19th in Poland.

Just beat Assassin's Creed, goddamn cliff-hanger, AC2 looks amazing though, mixed thoughts on new Metroid, looks a little weird.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Golden Sun DS
The Beatles: Rock Band (OMG three-part harmonies!)
The Last Guardian

Metroid: The Other M == Ninja Gaiden: Metroid??

I'm more scared that it will flop than excited.

One thing I am concerned about is that they are going to give it the feel of Metroid Fusion, a game that I didn't particularly like the feel of... It felt less open-world than previous Metroid games. Much more scripted and pushed you through the story. :-\

Oh man, I absolutely loved Metroid Fusion.

Anyway, I was in shock when I saw the new Metroid trailer. I don't know what to think of the game play, saw a little bit of everything. I hope it's good, after all, Nintendo seemed to think it would be a heavy hitter.

How could've I forgotten about GS DS... I'm really looking forward to that game, too. I just hope that 3D graphics won't take have too big impact on the gameplay.

I don't see how people can pass judgements on what looks good based on some pre-rendered cinematics. The star wars mmo will be nothing like the cinematic and the FF games have always had trailers that make the game look epic when ultimately the real thing will be nothing amazing.

New splinter cell game looks more like an action-shooter than a stealth game.

But really, all these games are either sequels, or franchises. Probably the most promising upcoming release is going to be Project Trico/The Last Guardian considering the directors history of utterly amazing games.

I loved Metroid Fusion, my problem is it looks to cartoony, I understand that it how it kinda was originally, but I much preferred the darker Prime games. Prime 3 was an amazing game.
